Rod and Line

For loch and small river fishing for salmon sea trout and brown trout, long rods and heavy tackle are not necessary. An 8 to 10 foot rod with an appropriate reel, an intermediate floating  line and 8 to 10lb breaking strain good quality monofilament leader with a size 12 wet fly are all that are required.

Wet Flies

Salmon and sea trout anglers have their tried and trusted choice of flies, a self fulfilling arrangement! And what about a muddler or two.
