Obbe Fishings

Season 2007

As usual we kicked off the season with the Annual Brown Trout competition for the Obbe Trophy in April. The balmy weather in June and July kept the salmon and sea trout in salt water but we had a good spate at the end of the month. Nineten salmon were caught in August and all lochs had good stocks of fish. Anglers who have been coming to Obbe for many years reported on the good numbers of fish, " just like the old days", but were sometimes frustrated at the number of fish that came to the fly but failed to take- that's Hebridean fishing. The catch was down on 2006 but we stopped fishing at the beginning of October rather fishing to the end of the month
